Christian Expectation of Grace

This lesson examines the biblical narrative of Jonah, focusing on his reluctant mission to warn the massive city of Nineveh about impending divine judgment. While the citizens responded with sincere repentance through fasting and sackcloth, Jonah became deeply resentful of God's decision to grant them grace and mercy.

Through the use of a rapidly growing plant and a destructive worm, God illustrated His sovereign authority and confronted the prophet’s hypocritical sense of pity. The lesson highlights that the Lord God is not limited by national boundaries and remains persistent in offering forgiveness to those who are spiritually lost. Ultimately, the story serves as a reminder that divine compassion is impartial and far more expansive than human prejudice.
