Loneliness

Loneliness is a profound emotion that many people in our community experience. It can manifest as a feeling of isolation, depression, or boredom, regardless of how many people are physically around us. At Victory Center Church in Round Rock, Texas, we understand these struggles and are dedicated to providing a supportive, loving community to help individuals overcome loneliness and find true connection.

The root of loneliness isn't merely the absence of other people but an inner absence—an absence of a centered awareness of our true self. Our true self is our spirit, which is infinite and eternal. Its qualities include love, compassion, equanimity, joy, creativity, intuition, pure potentiality, and bliss. Jesus’s teachings remind us of this deeper truth. Despite knowing loneliness, Jesus said, “Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me” (John 16:32). This teaches us that even in times of abandonment, we are never truly alone because God is always with us.

Jesus knew firsthand what it was like to feel lonely. He experienced abandonment and isolation, yet He found comfort in the presence of His Father. When we feel overwhelmed by loneliness, Jesus’s example encourages us to shift our focus from what we lack to what we possess: a relationship with a loving God who never leaves us. This shift in perspective can be transformative, helping us find peace and comfort in God's unending presence.

The Bible addresses the theme of loneliness in various passages, offering hope and reassurance. Romans 8:38-39 is a powerful reminder of God’s unwavering love: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." This scripture reassures us that God's love is always with us, even in our loneliest moments.

At Victory Center Church, we believe in the importance of community and fellowship. Our Sunday Morning Worship Service at 11 AM is not just a time for worship but also an opportunity to connect with others.
