Resurrection: The Future Hope
Apr 1, 2026 • Pastor Ed Pope
The resurrection of Jesus Christ serves as the foundational pillar of the Christian faith. The study argues that without the physical resurrection, the entire structure of Christian belief—including preaching, faith, the forgiveness of sins, and the hope of eternal life—collapses into a "vain" and "miserable" deception.
Paul’s defense of the resurrection uses a "chain reaction of consequences" to demonstrate its necessity, eventually framing Christ as the "first-fruits" of a larger coming harvest. The documents conclude that the ultimate victory over death, achieved through Christ, transforms death from a final "period" into a "comma," providing the necessary motivation for steadfast spiritual labor in the present life.
