Stewardship and Mission
As we begin this lesson on “Stewardship and Mission,” we turn our attention to the powerful link Scripture makes between God’s grace and our calling to live faithfully in response to it. The gospel is not only something we receive—it is something that reshapes how we live. Throughout the book of Acts, we see that Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, empowered His followers to become bold witnesses to the ends of the earth. Their lives were marked by courage, obedience, and generosity.
One compelling example of this grace-filled response is found in the Macedonian churches. Though facing poverty themselves, they gave sacrificially to meet the needs of others. Their generosity did not flow from abundance, but from hearts transformed by Christ. In this way, they reflected the ultimate model of stewardship and mission—Jesus Himself, who became poor so that we might become rich in Him.
This lesson invites us to see generosity not merely as an obligation, but as worship—an expression of gratitude for the salvation we have received. As we explore the biblical teaching, historical background, and study questions together, we will be challenged to live out an active faith, sharing our time, resources, and lives with a world in need.
